My friends call me: Marilyn
I am the: Senior Global Sales Operations & Logistics Manager at Zyloware Eyewear
I joined the OWA in:2021
Words my colleagues use to describe me are:The "HUB" go-to person who gets things done, straightforward, supportive, and effective.
The career advice I would give my 18-year-old self is:Slow down-you don't need to figure everything out at once. Trust yourself; you're stronger / more capable than you think. Speak with confidence, stand by your work, and protect what you've earned. Choose support that empowers you, never diminishes you.
When I think about my career, I'm most excited about:What's ahead, leveling up, continuously learning, and growing. Meeting new people and building connections in an industry filled with experts and talented individuals. I am driven by the process of watching my goals unfold one-by-one, taking full ownership of what I can accomplish with my knowledge and talents, and using that to give back and pay it forward.
Daily, I read:I make it a habit to read positive affirmations for women — it is essential for me. I believe in speaking positivity into existence. Positive affirmations can truly shift your mindset and transform your mood, one thought at a time. In a world where so much is happening all at once and often unpredictably, it is important to stay grounded and protect your peace with positivity.
My theme song is:Level Up by Ciara is not just my personal theme song — it's become a tradition I share with my daughters. There's something about this track that instantly makes us feel like total rockstar, take-on-the-world energy.
I recommend:You work hard to achieve your goals — no shortcuts. Keep a healthy balance and stay true to yourself. Learn to stay open to change and take time to reevaluate yourself every so often. Love your loved ones deeply, and build as many memories as you can because you never know when a moment might be the last. Most importantly, be kind to yourself, and remember who you are.
