Now in its second year, the OWA Dialogue series, created exclusively for OWA members, highlights dynamic and diverse guest speakers who spark conversation, open perspectives, and inspire personal and professional growth. You'll hear from key thought leaders as they draw on their experiences to offer insightful perspectives on a variety of trending topics.
The final event of 2026 will feature special guest Dr. Katie W. Chu as she shares powerful insights to help you transform your life and step boldly into your full potential.
Join us for an honest conversation designed to help OWA members move beyond overwhelm, reconnect with their purpose, and step confidently into what's next. Through real stories, practical tools and the strength of this community, we'll look at what burnout is actually telling us — and what becomes possible when we listen.
Dr. Katie W. Chu is an optometrist, national speaker, author, podcast host, entrepreneur, and storyteller whose work connects healthcare, human connection, personal discovery and legacy.
For more than 30 years, Dr. Chu has owned and operated an independent optometry practice in Rosemead, California, caring for generations of families from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Her exam room has never been only a place for clinical care. It has also been a place where people from around the world share their lives, families, struggles, hopes, cultures and stories.
That experience shaped what Dr. Chu calls Human Care: the belief that people want to be seen, heard, understood, and cared for as human beings, not simply as patients, professionals, titles, or roles. Human Care began in the exam room, but it extends far beyond healthcare. The storytelling that now runs through her speaking, podcasting, writing, and lived experiences grew naturally from those decades of human connection.
