My friends call me: Pretty

I am the: CEO of Edwards and Walker Opticians and Founder of Skin Medicine Aesthetics Clinic

I live / work in:United Kingdom

I joined the OWA in:2025

Words my colleagues use to describe me are:Impulsive, determined, fashionista, chief-organiser!

The career advice I would give my 18-year-old self is:If you have it in you, go with that feeling; the gut has so much to answer for. And I would rather you tried and failed than to live in the what-if? for the rest of your life. Plus, at 18 you have your whole life ahead of you; it is not the end!

When I think about my career, I'm most excited about:The diversity I have as a female in healthcare, to work in so many different facets of optics — from marketing to mentoring, and AI to corporate roles. The optical community is so strong and well connected; it is a privilege to be part of it. The skills you gain in healthcare are transferable to so many non-traditional roles. What I am most excited about right now is mentoring women in business and life — that is where I can create real impact and leave a legacy.

Daily, I read:I don't get to chance to read that often, but I listen to podcasts like Louise Newson's The Menopause, Mel Robbins, and so many personal development podcasts. I am currently deep diving into longevity and wellness, so you will find those types of podcasts and audiobooks on my Spotify.

My theme song is:Moment for Life by Nikki Minaj!

I recommend:Understanding your brain — I am a huge neuroscience advocate. Once you can name your brain, you can begin to train your brain. Identify your mind traps — like the imposter, the people pleaser, the perfectionist — and once you recognise them, you can shift them and live the life of your dreams. Oh, and remember confidence doesn't come first; action does. So, as always do it scared. What's the worst that could happen??
