OWA's Champagne Breakfast, sponsored by EssilorLuxottica in the beautiful Gotham Hall venue, once again proved to be a spectacularly unforgettable opening event for Vision Expo East attendees! A record-breaking number of OWA members, sponsors, and guests were on hand to honor three extraordinary women for their impact on the OWA and the optical industry: Karen Roberts (Pleiades Award), Dr. Beverly Bianes (Pyxis Award), and Emerging Leader Award recipient Talia Bruno. A special tribute to OWA's journey was narrated OWA Past-President Maureen Cavanagh, President Deb Bulken, and President-Elect Dr. Lorie Lippiatt, and was highlighted by a deeply moving video entitled "We See You".
The annual OWA Friday cocktail reception was held for the first time in the OPTImum Lounge on the Expo floor itself. OWA members, sponsors, and guests enjoyed the easily-accessible location and the opportunity to network with their optical colleagues.
